This is a workshop
for the photographer who wants to discover and master the magic
of light and photograph the female nude, in both the natural and
studio environments. Lighting is the single most important aspect
of photography. The quality of light can transform a photograph
from ordinary to extraordinary.
We will demonstrate the setup and use studio lighting to create
unique nude figure photographs. At the same time, we will discuses
the merits of composition for design, emotion, pose and personality.
Photographers attending this 2-day workshop will gain a clear
understanding of artificial and natural light manipulation. With
hands-on assignments and clear critique sessions, designed to
help you gain greater control of your creative goals. You will
begin to pre-visualize and compose interesting and compelling
photographs.
Participants will learn to work with available light and use light
modifiers, scrims, reflectors, etc.. Reducing the obstacles that
keep them from achieving the desired effect and photograph within
their minds-eye.
Explore the elements of light and understand white balance, color
temperature, and light quality. Learn to work with natural light,
indoors and out, and to create effects with shadows. Discover
how light affects portraits, motion, emotion, close-up shots and
low-light photography.
This workshop has a strong emphasis on technical instruction,
composition, posing, and working with models. We keep this workshop
enrolment at a maximum of 9, with a three photographers to one
model ratio to allow for a concentrated shooting experience. Leaving
the workshop participating photographers will have the knowledge
and confidence to influence the lighting to help create photographs
matching their vision.
