This is a workshop for the photographer who wants to discover and master the magic of light and photograph the female nude, in both the natural and studio environments. Lighting is the single most important aspect of photography. The quality of light can transform a photograph from ordinary to extraordinary.

We will demonstrate the setup and use studio lighting to create unique nude figure photographs. At the same time, we will discuses the merits of composition for design, emotion, pose and personality. Photographers attending this 2-day workshop will gain a clear understanding of artificial and natural light manipulation. With hands-on assignments and clear critique sessions, designed to help you gain greater control of your creative goals. You will begin to pre-visualize and compose interesting and compelling photographs.

Participants will learn to work with available light and use light modifiers, scrims, reflectors, etc.. Reducing the obstacles that keep them from achieving the desired effect and photograph within their minds-eye.

Explore the elements of light and understand white balance, color temperature, and light quality. Learn to work with natural light, indoors and out, and to create effects with shadows. Discover how light affects portraits, motion, emotion, close-up shots and low-light photography.

This workshop has a strong emphasis on technical instruction, composition, posing, and working with models. We keep this workshop enrolment at a maximum of 9, with a three photographers to one model ratio to allow for a concentrated shooting experience. Leaving the workshop participating photographers will have the knowledge and confidence to influence the lighting to help create photographs matching their vision.
