Going Digital

Instructor: JD & Myriam Jarvis

Tuition: $395.00 - Limit 16 Students
9 am - 5 pm

This 2-day workshop based on his book of the same title, JD will present an introduction to the philosophy and cultural context of digital art, followed by hands-on experiences for participants. Following the book’s format, a presentation/ discussion of historical and artistic contextsof 2-D art will lead to lab exercises wherein participants will create original digital art pieces using Adobe Photoshop and a variety of auxiliary plug ins and filters. The workshop will demonstrate how the individual artist’s vision and practices shape the work, dispelling the commonly held notion that the computer somehow creates digital art. It will serve as both an introduction to creating digital art and offer practice in creative use of plug-in and filters.
