The New Paint, Part I and II

Instructor: Myriam Jarvis

Tuition: $395.00 - Limit 16 Students
9 am - 5 pm

This 2-day workshop will explore both intermediate and advanced use of Corel Painter software to create digital artwork. The ability of this software to mimic traditional media, as well as create brush looks that go beyond any other media, will be demonstrated and practiced. Participants will first learn how to set up an existing image as a “tracing paper” in order to create an enhanced image that replicates traditional media, such as chalk, pastel, watercolors, ink or paint, the “natural media” aspects of Painter.

On the second day of the workshop, participants will be encouraged to investigate the exciting and extensive set of electronic “brushes” that the Painter software can produce, such as painting with liquid metal or painting one image with another. Techniques such as creating and selecting unique cloning sources and using Painter’s extensive layering capabilities will also be practiced.
