Digital Photography Done Right

Instructor: Mark Dubovoy

Tuition: $810.00 - Limit 16 Students
9 am - 5 pm

A 4- day workshop in how to do every step right – from exposure, to focus, to depth of field, to RAW conversion, to editing, all the way to printing. Topics will cover Workflow for Fine Art Photography. Participants will learn why proper exposure is critical in digital capture, noting differences from shooting film; effective digital capture, learning why traditional approaches and tables for depth of field do not apply to digital cameras; color management to insure consistent results from monitor to print; monitor and printer calibration; workflow in Lightroom and Photoshop CS3; printer set-up, soft proofing and printing; choosing the right paper for digital prints; and long term storage of digital images. Two landscape field assignments and discussions will be included in the workshop experience.

  • Basic understanding of the Zone system
  • Working knowledge of Photoshop: layers, curves, saturation controls, masking and selection tools, sharpening and printer controls
  • Working knowledge of Lightroom, Camera RAW or other RAW converters
