Care and knowledge
are the keys to good close-up photography. This 2-day workshop
will demonstrate techniques for getting technically successful
and artistic close-up photographs, both in the studio and in the
field. The workshop will cover choice of equipment, depth of field
considerations, diffraction limits, exposure issues, vibration
and camera movement, and how to make the most of natural lighting.
Full equipment will be provided for demonstrations, but students
are encouraged to bring their own close-up gear for discussion.
They will be able to test their cameras and lenses to evaluate
their sharpness and determine the optimum settings for their own
close-up work.
This workshop is suitable for both digital and film photographers,
although film photographers will not be able to develop their
film on-site.
