Image Restoration

The author of Digital Restoration from Start to Finish will take students through the whole process of restoring old photos, from start to finish in a 2-day workshop. Topics covered will include how to get the photos into computer, including optimizing scanning settings to make restoration easier. Students will be taught how to "diagnose" the photo to figure out the best approach to repairing it. Numerous specific tips and techniques for restoring photos will be provided. The course will also cover how to best print out the results and the best ways to archive the files. Ctein will provide sample images to work on, but students are encouraged to bring some of their own damaged photos to experiment on.
