Every serious photographer
should be using layers; this 2-day workshop will teach participants
how to get the most out of using layers. Layers are for much more
than doing up composites. Layers let photographers work creatively
but nondestructively on their photographs. They are the key to
performing really professional and sophisticated dodging and burning
in and making local color correction. Layers allow selective sharpening
of fine detail and smoothing out of noise and grain. They can
be used for hand tinting and airbrushing photographs, and for
making fine corrections to photographs to optimize print quality
on different printers. Layers can even be used as "magnifying
glasses" to make it easier to evaluate image manipulations.
The workshop will provide instruction and practice in using layers
like a pro.
