Many photographers
have stored years of negatives and transparencies made in a variety
of formats. Participants in this 2-day workshop will learn how
to transfer film data through scanning into digital files of the
highest quality and how to enhance these images digitally for
professional image output. Through these methods, Anderson has
found that he can equal, and in most cases surpass, his ability
to interpret negatives and transparencies by printing them digitally
compared to what he was able to do in the traditional darkroom.
Anderson will demonstrate how and which digital tools can be employed
to help in the successful interpretation of your negatives and
transparencies to make wonderful and luminous prints. The workshop
will cover both black and white and color digital printing, as
the specific Photoshop tools to achieve this level of image control
are the same for both. You’ll also learn to use some really
valuable tools new in Photoshop CS3.
“As a former
large format camera user, one of my biggest frustrations when
working with my new medium format camera and digital back was
the lack of camera movements and the depth of field compromises
that became necessary. However, with the release of Photoshop
CS3 I now have the capability of using digital scheimpflug and
have the advantage of virtual camera movements that are even more
effective than my view camera movements were. This is another
huge advantage for digital photography and quite simple to do
but as far as I can tell, Adobe doesn’t even mention that
this is possible.”
